My name is Jason Reed and I am an Assistant Professor at the State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota. I teach a variety of information technology courses, such as Computer Hardware Repair and Maintenance, Systems Design and Analysis, Introduction to Information Systems and Business Applications. I have earned a Masters Degree in Information Technology and a Masters Degree in Information Systems Management. I am currently writing my doctoral study and hope to earn my Doctorates in Information Technology by the end of 2018. Education and technology have always been two passions in my life. I continuously strive to learn new technology skills and I keep up-to-date on the latest technology trends.
Before pursuing a career in higher education, I was a Corrections Deputy for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. My main duty was the care, custody and control of the inmates in my care, however, I frequently volunteered my technical and educational skills to help the Agency. I assisted in implementing several technology systems in the jail and trained staff on the use of these technology systems. I look forward to utilizing my skills and knowledge of technology systems to teach and empower a new generation to help them learn the skills necessary to succeed in today’s technology driven workforce.
On a personal note, I am married to my wonderful wife, Roberta Reed and I have three amazing children. I enjoy learning new skills and exploring new ideas. I am a self admitted geek who likes all things technology. I love science fiction, both on screen and in novels.
